Originally known as "The Outlaw", CKKR-FM Cranbrook/Kimberley was born as a result of a major local programming survey which indicated that residents who didn't listen to EK Radio, would listen to a local upbeat country music station. Relaunched as CHBZ -FM, B-104 on June 29th, 2002, the station broadcasts hot new country music.
Arrangements have also been made to broadcast "B-104" on cable systems in the communities of Cranbrook, Kimberley, Creston, Canal Flats, Fairmont, Windermere, Invermere and Radium.
The station regularly involves listeners in major country contests and local community events.
In addition to the music focus, the station airs local news, weather and sports.
